GATINEAU, QC – The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) will maintain its current direction and focus on its initiatives over the next quadrennial. This is evident from the results of the biennial elections after which the leadership of the organization remains essentially unchanged. Marcel Aubut (Qué.) remains as president, and Olympian Tricia Smith (BC) retains her position as vice-president. Olympians Charmaine Crooks (BC) and Thérèse Brisson (ON) remain on the Board of Directors, as does Gene Edworthy (AB). The only change to the Council is the arrival of a new elected member, Kevin Gilmore, senior vice-president and chief operating officer of the Montreal Canadiens NHL franchise.
