The FIFA World Cup™ trophy, the most famous and coveted sporting award on the planet, features prominently in the official branding of the 2026 FIFA World Cup™, as The public was able to see this for themselves during the launch ceremony, this Wednesday, May 17, 2023. For the first time, the image of the trophy and the year of the competition are represented side by side. Through its innovative visual, the World Cup positions itself as one of the symbols of the year 2026 and, beyond that, looks resolutely towards the future. This visual also adapts perfectly to the specificities of each host country and is already establishing itself as a reference in terms of brand structure for the years to come.

The presentation ceremony of the official brand of the 2026 World Cup took place in Los Angeles (United States) during an event where FIFA, the three host countries (Canada, United States and Mexico), Football legends and special guests were present or represented to celebrate together this first step towards the next edition of the major world meeting. The participants experienced together, at the legendary Griffith Observatory, a page of history with the presentation of the emblem by Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA, and Ronaldo, double world champion with Brazil.

This event was also an opportunity to discover the launch campaign, “WE ARE 26”, which aims to bring individuals, sites and society in general to actively contribute to the dissemination of the official brand of the 2026 World Cup It features portraits that tell personal stories from the World Cup™, showcasing the experiences fans can expect in 2026 and inviting everyone to take part in “WE ARE 26”.​

“‘WE ARE 26’ is a rallying cry,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino. Through him, three countries and the entire continent tell us: “We are united to welcome the world and organize the biggest, best and most inclusive of all World Cups. » The competition aims to give each host country and each participating team the opportunity to write its own page in the great history of the World Cup. Guests also enjoyed a Q&A session moderated by Fox Sports consultant and 1994 FIFA World Cup™ veteran Alexi Lalas and Telemundo anchor Ana Jurka. FIFA legends from the host countries, Carli Lloyd, Craig Forrest and Jorge Campos willingly took part in the exercise. The evening ended in style with a drone show above the Hollywood Hills.

The atmosphere went up a notch on May 11, with the launch of the #NousSommes26 campaign by FIFA, the host countries and the competition's commercial partners. The next edition of the FIFA World Cup will take place in June and July 2026 and the world champions will be crowned on Sunday July 19, 2026. The four-team group stage will take place before a knockout stage during which 32 of the best national teams in the world will compete to obtain the most prestigious trophy. Conmebol will be the first confederation to head towards 2026, as current world champions Argentina and the other South American national teams will begin qualifying in September 2023.
