World Sailing has confirmed the dates of the next Sailing World Championships : they will take place in Fortaleza (Brazil) from January 22 to 30, 2027. A test event has been confirmed for January 24-31, 2026 to allow athletes to get their bearings and ensure success at the World Championships the following year. Six events will be on the program: windsurfing, kitesurfing and dinghy, which will all be available in a men's and a women's version. 330 athlete quotas are planned.
Daniel Azevedo, president of the Brazilian Sailing Federation, is optimistic ahead of this double deadline: " The city of Fortaleza has ideal conditions for water sportsWe look forward to delivering an exceptional edition of the Sailing World Championships. The test event is an opportunity to refine processes, work with World Sailing and the athletes, and make sure everything is in place for the main event in January 2027. »
