Predictable. After the Australian Ashleigh Barty, three other big names in professional tennis have announced their decision to give up playing the US Open, scheduled for August 31 to September 13 on the courts of Flushing Meadow in New York. The Australian Nick Kyrgios, the Chinese Wang Qiang, and the Latvian Jelena Ostapenko (photo above), will not travel to the United States for the second round of the Grand Slam in 2020. A reasoned decision, as for number 1 worldwide, for health reasons. The US Open tennis tournament is still officially on the calendar, but with less than a month to go before the first exchanges, the threat of cancellation is growing a little stronger every day.
