
The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) is further accelerating its pace in the sports field. It announces the official launch, Monday February 5, of its streaming platform dedicated to sporting events. Simply named Eurovision Sport, it will offer the public thousands of hours of content, in addition to the audiovisual coverage produced by public service media. The offer will include a large number of sporting disciplines, winter and summer, from athletics to gymnastics, including skiing, swimming and biathlon. Topping the list of events on offer are the World Swimming Championships in Doha (February 2-18), the Biathlon World Championships in the Czech Republic (February 7-18) and the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Glasgow. (March 1 to 3). To design and operate its new platform, the EBU has entered into a partnership with Nagravision. As a reminder, the EBU currently manages media rights for 14 sports, offering more than 43 hours of sports programs under agreements concluded with 000 international federations.
